The Kentucky Supreme Court recently reached a decision, which now makes a landlord liable if a tenant’s dog attacks someone on the leased premises. In the plurality opinion, it was determined by that court that the landlord would be considered the statutory owner of the dog if the landlord agreed that the dog could be kept on their leased premises. Recent medical malpractice lawsuits were filed against doctors at the King’s Daughter’s Medical Center in Ashland. The lawsuits, which were filed in state court, alleged that the doctors at the aforementioned medical center misrepresented the severity of patients’ heart conditions in an effort to justify surgeries. The doctors then installed stents in these patients’ and benefited from federal healthcare programs.
