Kentucky Motor Vehicle Accident Fatalities Down Slightly in 2011

According to the official website of the Kentucky State Police, Kentucky motor vehicle accident fatalities were down slightly for 2011 as compared to 2010. There were 717 motor vehicle accident fatalities for the state in 2011. In 2010, the total for the year was 760.
While we’re always encouraged to see fewer Kentucky motor vehicle accident fatalities, unfortunately, the trend doesn’t seem to be carrying over into 2012. The early numbers for 2012 motor vehicle accident fatalities indicate that there have been 55 fatalities to date in 2012, compared to only 42 fatalities for the same period in 2011 (although this is still lower than the same period in 2010, which was 63). It’s our sincere hope that other citizens of the Bluegrass will quickly take action to bring that number down in the coming months, and practice safe driving.
